The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab Republic of Egypt recently signed a memorandum of understanding on July 27th between his excellency Prof Abdel Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on behalf of the Egyptian government and President Professor Jackie Taylor, President of the Royal College. Under the partnership, both organisations will work together to promote and advance standards of surgical, medical, and dental care in Egypt and will facilitate the delivery of face-to-face elements of the College’s highly regarded FRCS (Ophthalmology) examinations. A new joint examination centre for Ophthalmology in Cairo will be opened in 2022 within the existing campus infrastructure.
Jackie Taylor, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi came together to discuss the new programme that will identify opportunities to develop postgraduate education, training, and assessment in support of healthcare professionals.
