Speaking on Thursday evening at the President’s Leadership lecture at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Advocate Neil Mackenzie, a specialist in the areas of professional negligence and industrial disease, outlined the differences between gross negligence manslaughter and involuntary culpable homicide legislation.
Dr Jackie Taylor, the President-Elect of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow has commented on behalf of the College following the ruling by the Court of Appeal on Monday 13th August to overturn the High Court’s decision to strike Dr Bawa-Garba off the medical register earlier this year.
The College was delighted to welcome members and guests to a recent joint event with the Faculty of Advocates on Tuesday 13th March which provided a platform to discuss the impact of the Montgomery ruling on medical consent on medical staff and patients, and the challenges that remain for the wider health service.
